Silver Peak SD-WAN is a challenger brand that competes directly with industry behemoth Cisco. Silver Peak’s offering is 100% cloud-based, while Cisco’s SD-WAN solution requires routers, which are costly and difficult to maintain. We also found out that these routers haven’t changed much since the 1980s. Crazy. So we invented Wayne McFarkus, IT extraordinaire, who loves everything about the ’80s. With his catchphrase, “Don’t get routered,” Wayne preaches his gospel everywhere he can.
Results: Initial campaign CTR was 320% above the industry average, view-throughs were 120% higher than the industry average, web traffic jumped by 30% bringing over 1,000,000 unique views, and trade show booth traffic more than doubled and earned unofficial “favorite booth” status.
We took Wayne McFarkus on the road and he was a big hit at trade shows. We also sent potential customers vintage Sony Walkmen with a funny prerecorded message from Wayne and an ’80s mixtape.
